DocStock
A reminder a day keeps Doc at bay.
DocStock turns a prescription list into a daily plan. It tells people when a dose is due, keeps a record of what was taken, and warns them before a bottle runs out.
Elevator pitch
DocStock is a web and mobile app that helps people and their caregivers manage prescriptions by scheduling doses, screening for drug interactions, and tracking supply, with the goal of increasing medication adherence.
The problem
Many people who take medications regularly have difficulty managing their medication schedules, remembering doses, tracking whether medications were taken, and knowing if their supply is running low. These difficulties can lead to missed, delayed, or repeated doses.
- About one in five new prescriptions in the U.S. is never filled.
- Roughly half of filled prescriptions are taken incorrectly — wrong time, dose, frequency, or duration.
- Nonadherence costs an estimated $100–300 billion in U.S. health care spending each year.

Customer and end user
DocStock is built for people who take prescription medications regularly, and for the people who help them stay on schedule.
Customer
Individuals and families who manage prescriptions at home and want one place, on a phone or in a browser, to keep doses, refills, and interaction warnings together.
End user: patients
Anyone on a regular medication schedule, especially people managing several prescriptions, who needs reminders, a record of doses taken, and a warning before supply runs low.
End user: caregivers
Family members and caregivers who are granted access to a patient's profile, or who manage several profiles under one account, and can be alerted to missed doses.
Also served: healthcare providers
Doctors and pharmacists receive an exported adherence report that patients bring to appointments.
Solution statement
DocStock will be a smartphone and web application that helps people manage their prescribed medication schedules. Users enter their medications, dosing instructions, and current supply, and DocStock organizes everything into a single, easy-to-follow schedule.
When a new medication is added, DocStock checks it against the user's active medication list and warns the user of known drug interactions. The app sends reminders when doses are due, lets users record each dose taken, tracks remaining supply, and alerts the user before a refill is needed.
Adherence history is compiled into a report that can be exported for a healthcare provider. Caregivers can be granted access, and multiple profiles can be managed under one account.

What DocStock leaves alone
Drawing the line early keeps the scope honest and the product safe.
- It does not order refills on a user's behalf.
- It does not give medical advice. Interaction warnings are informational, and users are directed to confirm with their provider or pharmacist.
- It does not log symptoms, mood, or other health metrics.
- It does not connect directly to pharmacy systems.
